During Hurricane Sandy, the Tribe activated Emergency Operations Command Centers to monitor the storm, and the combined efforts of these centers helped ensure a coordinated response of the community. Community members were advised on the storm’s progress. This system could be continued and improved to better manage an increased number of storm events in the future due to climate change.
