Collaboration with a number of organizations such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the New York State Division of Fish, Wildlife and Marine Resources, and non-governmental organizations such as the National Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy, and the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society may provide valuable benefits to the Tribe’s efforts to conserve its bird life. These groups can provide information and resources and may be able to help the Tribe identify key bird areas for conservation in Akwesasne as well as determine useful and effective restoration actions for native bird species in the area.
