A framework that could prove useful to the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe in its efforts to protect its berry resources (and other wild foods) in the face of climate change is provided by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation’s (CTUIR) “First Foods” program. The CTUIR Department of Natural Resources has partnered with local, state and federal entities to restore ecosystems that support culturally important foods.
