Another framework that could prove useful to the Tribe in its efforts to protect its fisheries in the face of climate change is provided by the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC), which has worked to halt and reverse the decline of Pacific Northwest salmon, steelhead, Pacific lamprey and sturgeon populations for 36 years in the Northwest region of the United States (Dittmer 2013).
