The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe has implemented EPA-approved water quality standards under the Clean Water Act since 2007, and currently manages ambient water quality, non-point source pollutants, and direct discharges to the waters of Akwesasne. The Tribe’s Water Resources Program also monitors swimming safety in the Raquette, St. Regis and St. Lawrence Rivers by measuring E. coli levels.
