Increase involvement and communication with regional and federal agency management processes to support salmon restoration and traditional use of the species. Many species will require a broad coalition of support and regional collaboration to ensure that they can be maintained and survive as the climate changes. Salmon are one of the species that requires this type of support. The tribe can become more active in protecting critical resources in the forest and nearshore to support the many life stages of salmon that occur in the region. It can also advocate and participate in the appropriate process (installation of fish passage culverts, decreasing habitat fragmentation, monitoring stream temperatures, restoring complex stream function that limits the impact of high winter and low summer streamflows, etc.) to support the health and vitality of the salmon runs throughout the region and continue the traditional use of the species.
