Encourage planting of traditional and native plant species, over non-native species, where appropriate on Tribal lands. Traditional and native species provide critical cultural connections to both the landscape and important cultural traditions. They also provide opportunities for intergenerational knowledge sharing. While not all native species are guaranteed to thrive in a climate-altered future, prioritizing their planting and management (in the appropriate locations) will help ensure that these resources are available for many generations. This can be prioritized and/or re-established during the Relocation efforts as well as in the context of the Community Garden.
