Create redundant and resilient utility infrastructure with a focus on energy, water, and telecommunications. Energy distribution, water distribution and wastewater collection systems, and communications systems tie our communities together. While the Tribe doesn’t own or operate these systems directly, it can partner with regional and state entities that do and advocate for and support enhancing the resilience of these systems. Resilient systems have back-ups and redundancy, are flexible, and able to dynamically respond to extreme weather events, changing conditions, natural disasters, and other stressors. They provide the backbone support for the health, safety, and wellbeing of all residents.
