Look for opportunities to establish or support cultural connections as new infrastructure is designed and built. Cultural connections are critical to a thriving and vibrant community. With every new project (both upgrades to existing infrastructure and development of new infrastructure) there are opportunities to build in components that enhance cultural and multi-general connections. These improvements could include benches for sitting together, enhanced trails, or easier and expanded access to traditional use areas. It is also essential to consider connections between structures and land and take into account the initial siting of these structures and the potential impacts of climate change, such as beach erosion.
