We recommend the expansion of Climate Kids outreach and climate education to Tribes by establishing a southern hub at Manzanita for use by the Southern California Tribes in the South of the San Diego area. The Climate Science Alliance is excited to partner with the Tribe to create five new traveling trunks on the topics of Climate Science and: Oceans, Pollinators, Carnivores, Atmospheric Chemistry, and Food Systems. The Manzanita Tribe will maintain the trunks and become the location to pick up/check out the trunks for other tribes. At the Manzanita Hub we propose to host three tribal climate science trainings that will be recorded for continued use and additional capacity building. By creating this hub and repository, Manzanita builds the foundation for educating the next generation on climate impacts and stewardship.
