Work with the US Forest Service, the San Diego Natural Hsitory Museum, Forest Health Protection, and teh Climate Science Alliance to develop a community science Gold Spotted Oak Borer and a Shot Hole Borer protocol that the community can participate in and help monitor the status of ‘snyaaw on Tribal lands. Moreover, we recommend training Tribal community members for the community science component of the ‘snyaaw monitoring plan so that they might have greater investment and ownership in caring for their cultural and natural heritage.
