Complete a Comprehensive Land Use Plan for the Lummi Nation, taking into account climate change impacts. The Lummi Planning and Public Works Department (Planning) is developing a Comprehensive Land Use Plan for the Lummi Nation. The purpose of the plan is to guide land use development on the Reservation for the next 20 years in accordance with the community’s goal of attaining sustained prosperity and wellness. In addition to guiding policy and actions regarding land use and development, identifying and allocating land for specific uses, prioritizing capital facilities needs, and ensuring protection of critical areas (e.g., wetlands, sensitive habitats, frequently flooded areas, geologically hazard areas), it is recommended that the plan also focus on building a climate resilient community.
