The re-establishment of the former Pinyon Pine Forest in the transmontane portion of the larger reservation site would provide a more diverse food source for people and animals. The only indicator element of this former forest is the presence of California Juniper (Juniperus californica) in this portion of the reservation. The introduction could involve both species of Pinyon Pines (Pinus quadrifolia and Pinus monophylla) to eastern transmontane sector of reservation.
