As First Nations lose the opportunity to engage in traditional activities, there is a corresponding loss in the applicability of First Nation languages. In addition to initiatives that protect TK and traditional activities, additional programs need to be supported that protect First Nation languages through effective curriculum development at schools, increased financial resources, and integration of language preservation issues into climate change policy discussions.
